Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG — Granular Insecticide
Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG is a water-soluble granular insecticide used to control lepidopteran borers, bollworms and armyworms in cotton, paddy, vegetables and fruit crops. Its systemic and translaminar action reaches pests feeding inside plant tissue — where contact sprays cannot reach.
How It Works (Mode of Action)
Emamectin benzoate is a chloride channel activator. It binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in insect nerve and muscle cells, causing irreversible paralysis and death within 24–48 hours. Pests stop feeding almost immediately after exposure, protecting crops even before death. Resistance management group: IRAC Group 6.

Mix required grams in small amount of water first, then dilute to full spray volume. Use a knapsack or power sprayer for even coverage.
Application Tips
- Spray in the early morning or evening — avoids bee activity and improves absorption.
- Effective up to 14–21 days residual activity under normal conditions.
- Spray when pest population reaches economic threshold — do not spray prophylactically every cycle.
- Rotate with a different IRAC group insecticide (e.g., IRAC 28 — chlorantraniliprole) after 2 consecutive sprays to delay resistance.
